The new passenger terminal at Namangan airport will open before the end of the year

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of a working trip to the Namangan region, got acquainted with the progress of construction of a new terminal at Namangan airport,reportedPresidential press service.

A three-story complex with a total area of ​​22.6 thousand square meters. meters should begin serving passengers by the end of this year. According to preliminary calculations, it will be able to serve over 1,200 people per hour, or 3 million travelers annually.

The volume of investment in the project amounted to $175 million. Its implementation will increase the airport`s capacity several times.

The new terminal will house border and customs control points, a visa service, a business lounge, trade and catering facilities, a medical center, and a Duty Free zone. In total, it is expected to create 550 jobs here.

In addition, by the end of 2027 it is planned to commission a cargo terminal with a capacity of 50 tons of goods per day. It will become part of a unified modern cargo system being created in the Fergana Valley to expand exports to 90 countries.

The President examined in detail the progress of construction work in the new terminals. Based on the results of the inspection, Mirziyoyev set a number of tasks for further improvement of the airport infrastructure.


Namangan Airport was opened in 1971, received international status in 2013 and now receives regular flights from nine airlines. The new terminal is being built in accordance with the presidential decree on the development of public-private partnerships in the airport sector, adopted in March 2021.

The new terminal project was firstpresentedto the head of state in the spring of 2024 and was then estimated at $140 million. The last time the head of state inspected the progress of construction of the terminal was in September 2025.
