Uzbekistan and Qatar will expand cooperation in economics, energy and logistics

Uzbekistan and Qatar intend to intensify their strategic partnership and expand joint work in the economy, energy, logistics and tourism. Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov discussed these issues with the Ambassador of Qatar Hassan bin Hamza Hashim.

The parties reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during high-level contacts. Investments and cultural and humanitarian cooperation were also named among promising areas.

The meeting participants paid special attention to the schedule of upcoming bilateral events and the interaction of the two countries within the framework of international organizations.

The ambassador also conveyed the gratitude of the Qatari side for the recent visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Doha and the condolences he personally expressed.

Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the capital of Qatar in connection with the death of the country`s former emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The head of Uzbekistan met with the current emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
