American logistics firms plan to open offices and invest in Uzbekistan
The offices will provide dispatch and other services to the US trucking industry.
Several technology companies from the United States are planning to open branches in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Digital Technologies reported.
During the working visit, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Sherzod Shermatov, held a series of meetings with American partners. Thus, he discussed cooperation in the field of logistics outsourcing and personnel training with the co-founder of Wersirius Holding Danilo Tosic.
Opportunities were noted for creating a modern logistics support ecosystem in the country with the participation of Wersirius. The company plans to open an operations center under the IT Park residency program for back-office support, including dispatch services, cargo tracking, staffing and security.
At the first stage, 50 jobs will be created in the center, in the future their number will expand to 200. The company will also expand the scope of work in Uzbekistan in the areas of technical support and development.
In addition, Wersirius intends to launch training programs in logistics, sales, dispatch and recruiting. The parties emphasized the potential for strengthening cooperation in logistics between Uzbekistan, Serbia and the United States.
After this, Shermatov, together with representatives of IT Park, held a meeting with the American-Moldovan Association of Logistics and Transport (AMALT). Its topic was the project of a transport operations center, which is planned to open in Uzbekistan.
The future center will provide accounting services, dispatch, compliance and customer support for Moldovan companies in the USA (Nova Lines, C1 Management, CargoBoss, Forsage Logistics, etc.). It will employ up to 400 people.
AMALT has expressed its readiness to invest in digital transport solutions and training programs, as well as local accelerators for startups. This is expected to integrate innovative developments from local startups into the US ecosystem.
