Armenian Shirak Avia launched direct flights from Yerevan to Tashkent
Direct air services have been launched between Uzbekistan and Armenia,reportedpress service of Uzbekistan Airports.
The Armenian airline Shirak Avia has begun operating regular passenger flights on the route Yerevan - Tashkent - Yerevan, resuming direct flights between the capitals of Armenia and Uzbekistan for the first time in recent decades.
On June 2, the first Shirak Avia flight from Yerevan landed at Tashkent International Airport, carrying 127 passengers. According to aviation tradition, the plane was greeted with a water arch and the crew members with flowers.
On the same day, a solemn opening ceremony of registration for the first flight from Tashkent to Yerevan took place at the capital’s airport. On the debut flight, 177 passengers departed for the capital of Armenia.
Flights will be operated once a week on Boeing 737 aircraft.
Uzbekistan Airports noted that previously passengers had to travel in this direction with transfers through Moscow, Istanbul, Tbilisi and other cities.
Previously Spotwrotethat Russia has banned the export of jet fuel, but this will not affect Uzbekistan.
Shirak Avia is an Armenian airline based at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. The carrier operates international flights to a number of destinations and operates aircraft of the Boeing 737 family.
