Oman Air announced the launch date of flights between Muscat and Tashkent

Oman Air has announced the launch date for flights on the Muscat — Tashkent — Muscat route, according to the press service of Uzbekistan Airways.

Flights between the capitals of Uzbekistan and Oman will begin on June 2. The carrier will operate flights on Boeing 737 aircraft three times a week — on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The Civil Aviation Agency granted permission to the Omani company to operate flights from Muscat to Tashkent in spring 2025. The new route will be the carrier's first in Central Asia, Uzbekistan's civil aviation authority noted at the time.

In March of this year, Oman's Minister of Heritage and Tourism Sayyid Ibrahim al-Busaidi, in a conversation with Uzbekistan's Ambassador Abdusalom Khatamov, named the expected launch date as June 1. The launch of the flights should contribute to growth in tourist traffic, he noted.

Since July 2024, Oman operates a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan. They can stay freely in the sultanate for up to 14 days or obtain a visa on arrival at the airport.

In autumn of last year, private carrier Centrum Air launched a flight from Tashkent to the Omani city of Salalah. The route is operated by an Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Spot previously reported that Kyrgyz carrier Asman Airlines may launch Tashkent — Issyk-Kul flights this summer.

Oman Air — the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, founded in 1993. The company is based in Muscat and operates a fleet of 33 aircraft. Flights are operated to India, Pakistan, Turkey, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe.
