The progress of projects in the transport sector was reviewed

The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the progress of work within major projects aimed at modernizing transport infrastructure.

🛣 The project for the construction of a new modern highway along the Tashkent – Samarkand route was reviewed. According to the plan, the total length of this road will be 282 kilometers. Soil reinforcement works will be carried out on certain sections with a total length of 140 kilometers. The project предусматривает construction of 12 transport interchanges, 91 bridges and 16 overpasses.

The road, which is planned to be completed within five years, will become a category IA highway, meaning that it will comply with the highest technical standards and safety requirements for roads. Six traffic lanes with cement-concrete pavement, each 3.75 meters wide, will be organized. The design speed will reach 150 kilometers per hour.

A project for the construction of a 171-kilometer alternative highway along the Tashkent – Angren – Kamchik Pass route will also be implemented. It is planned to build 33 kilometers of tunnels and a number of major engineering structures.

The Head of State was informed about the financing sources being developed and the progress of negotiations on attracting foreign investors.

It was emphasized that special attention should be paid to the use of modern transport engineering solutions, the introduction of intelligent management and monitoring systems, and ensuring road safety when designing highways.

The presentation also included information on the progress of projects for the construction of the Tashkent – Charvak and Urgench – Khiva roads.

✈️ In addition, the main parameters of the project for the construction of the new international airport of Tashkent were reviewed. At the first stage, it is planned to build a passenger terminal with an area of 208.4 thousand square meters and two runways, each 4 kilometers long. Infrastructure capable of serving 20 million passengers per year, ensuring 30 takeoffs and landings per hour, and organizing parking for 169 aircraft will also be created.

Information was presented on the design and survey works carried out on the territory of the future airport as well as the next stages of project implementation.

The President instructed the responsible officials to ensure thorough technical and economic development of the projects, organize construction works in accordance with modern standards, and ensure long-term stable operation of the transport infrastructure.
