A multimodal logistics hub is being created in Tashkent together with DP World

The Tashkent Invest company and Dubai-based DP World announced the creation of a joint venture DP World Tashkent to develop and manage a modern multimodal logistics terminal in Tashkent.

As reported by DP World, the terminal will be built in the special industrial zone “Yangi Avlod” in the Yangikhayotsky district. The project is aimed at increasing transport connectivity, simplifying trade procedures and developing the logistics potential of not only Uzbekistan, but throughout Central Asia.

The share of Tashkent Invest in the authorized capital of the new company will be 15%, DP World - 85%. The total investment is estimated at more than 288 million US dollars, the project will be implemented in three stages.

The area of ​​approximately 82 hectares will include a railway dry port, customs clearance zones, truck parking, class A warehouses and cross-docking complexes.

The first stage involves the construction of a railway terminal with a capacity of 150 thousand TEU per year and a warehouse complex with an area of ​​63 thousand square meters. m by the end of 2026. In the future, it is planned to expand the warehouse space to 163 thousand square meters. m depending on market demand.

The terminal will have its own freight railway station, which will speed up the processing and delivery of goods, as well as reduce logistics costs. The hub will have direct access to the national railway network, major highways and Tashkent International Airport, providing multimodal transport by road, rail and air.
