The Ministry’s representative, I. Absattorov, presented a list of 24 facilities at an ESCAP working group meeting on dry ports held in Bangkok. He presented the results of studies evaluating their compliance with the requirements specified in Annex II of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Dry Ports.

The ESCAP Intergovernmental Agreement on Dry Ports was signed in 2013. The document covers the operations of inland logistics complexes, where cargo processing, temporary storage, inspection, and customs control are conducted, as well as — when possible — reception and dispatch, consolidation, distribution, and transshipment. Uzbekistan joined the agreement in 2021.
The document outlines recommendations for the infrastructure and equipment of dry ports. These include:
- separate warehouse areas (covered and open) for imports, exports, transshipment, and for perishable, valuable, and dangerous cargo;
- warehouse facilities, including customs bonded warehouses;
- equipment for customs supervision and inspection;
- cargo and container handling equipment;
- parking areas for trucks with sufficient capacity;
- IT systems, including electronic data exchange systems, scanners, and cargo scales.
Earlier, Spot reported that Pakistan would establish cargo transportation to Uzbekistan through China and Kyrgyzstan.
