SCO states discuss issues of expansion of transport market services
Tashkent hosted the first meeting of the SCO railway administration heads.
It was attended by representatives of SCO member states, heads and officials of railway organizations of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Republic of Belarus, Mongolian People`s Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Negotiations were held on the issues of expansion of transport market services, facilitation of customs documents, tariff policy. Possibilities of creating new economic international corridors, access to sea ports were considered.
Another important issues on the agenda were organization of logistics centers system, analysis of opportunities for improving cargo delivery services to the world market.
Such issues as attracting foreign investment in railway infrastructure, creation of new railway corridors with participation of international financial institutions, development of promising projects on increasing the volume of cargo transportation in the region were widely discussed at the event.
At the meeting, SCO railway administration heads signed a Statement.
This document defines main directions fully corresponding to unification plans of transport services of the SCO member states and providing for further development of cooperation.
The sides agreed to hold the next meeting of SCO railway administration heads in Kazakhstan.
