Uzbekistan Develops Container Train Traffic to Europe via Turkmenbashi Port
By the order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Accelerating the Transformation Processes in the Railway Network," key tasks have been set for organizing block train operations based on a schedule from Uzbekistan to the ports of Turkmenbashi.
In accordance with this directive, JSC "Uztemiryo'lcontainer" has organized container shipments to European countries through the port of Turkmenbashi in the current year. In particular, a total of 18 block trains carrying mineral fertilizers, potash, urea, aluminum, and copper have been successfully dispatched.
Specifically, during 2025, 380 containers from Sergeli station, 228 containers from Nazarbek station, and 25 containers from Assake station were sent to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, and a number of other European countries.
The launch of block trains along this route is of great importance for increasing Uzbekistan's export potential, diversifying the transport and logistics system, and enhancing competitiveness on international transport corridors.
