What will the Silkway Central Asia logistics center near Tashkent cost $300 million?

The first stage of the complex, covering an area of ​​almost 160 hectares, is planned to be completed by the beginning of 2027.

As Spot previously wrote, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev launched work on several joint projects on November 15. One of them was the construction of the Silkway Central Asia logistics center in the Tashkent region.

The project, presented at the TransLogistica Uzbekistan 2025 exhibition last week, is being implemented jointly by Uzbekistan Railways and the Kazakh company PTC Holding. The volume of investments is estimated at $300 million, reports the World Railways magazine.

The total area of ​​the multifunctional logistics center will be 159.4 hectares. The complex will be located in the Yangiyul region and will act as a logistics hub between Kazakhstan, the Fergana Valley and the Samarkand direction.

Container sites for 172 thousand square meters will be built here. meters, class “A” and “B” warehouses for 167 thousand sq. m, an industrial zone and a trade and exhibition complex of 18.7 thousand square meters. m.

More than 28 km of railways will be built on the territory of Silkway Central Asia. As part of the infrastructure work, it is planned to build road and railway overpasses and hydraulic structures, as well as rebuild power lines.

Construction will be carried out in several stages, and the first stage of the center is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2027. The logistics center will be able to process up to 350 thousand TEU annually, and by 2035 - up to 3 million tons of cargo. The complex will create up to 700 jobs.
